Birmingham Bloomfield Credit Union’s story began more than 80 years ago.
On November 23, 1931 Birmingham Teachers was organized and charted in the State of Michigan by a group of teachers. Located in a classroom at Barnum Elementary School, the Credit Union was originally created to serve the teachers and other employees of the Birmingham School system. Eventually the credit union moved to a small house on Woodward Avenue in Birmingham and in 1963, it was moved to the Lincoln Street location.

You are eligible to join if you live, work, worship, or attend school in the state of Michigan.
You need a current non-expired driver’s license, or State ID with the correct address.
You need a second piece of identification such as a social security card, passport, insurance card or credit card.
Please have your social security card with you.
Please bring a minimum deposit of $5 cash to begin a “share” account, the basic credit union savings account. You must maintain a minimum of $5 in this account to enjoy member benefits.
Visit any branch in Birmingham, Holly, Lake Orion, Shelby or Waterford and have the above documents with you in order to complete the membership process.
