Effective Wednesday, April 1st the following changes have been issued for Lakes Community a part of BBCU branches:

Waterford North Branch (4770 Dixie Hwy) Location:

Lake Orion Branch (350 N. Park Blvd) Location:

REGULAR HOURS: (Drive Thru only) 9AM – 5:30PM Monday through Thursday, & 9AM – 6PM on Fridays, & 9AM – 1PM Saturdays.

In compliance with Governor Whitmer’s shelter-in-place directive, we want you to be aware the credit union is considered an essential service. Therefore, we are available to serve you. We take members’ and staff health concerns seriously and we are taking every precaution. Please be patient as we may experience staff shortages. In-person services are restricted as a safety measure for members and employees.

We would like to remind you that your money is safe and member deposits are federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration to at least $250,000 and backed by the full faith and credit of the United States Government.

As we follow the “Stay Home, Stay Safe” order, the following locations’ lobbies will remain CLOSED.

  • Birmingham – Drive Thru Only
  • Holly – Drive Thru Only
  • Lake Orion – Drive Thru Only 
  • Waterford North –*REOPENS* Drive Thru Only effective April 1st
  • Waterford East – Drive Thru Only
  • Waterford West – Drive Thru Only
  • Shelby – CLOSED (No Drive Thru available). Please visit one of our other six locations available to assist you, we apologize for the inconvenience.

If you need an in-person service that cannot be handled using the Drive Thru service, please call your local branch (excluding Shelby) to schedule an appointment

Electronic Services

We highly recommend you take advantage of our electronic services such as:

  • Online Banking
  • Mobile Banking through the Birmingham Bloomfield Credit Union app featuring mobile deposit (download the app from the App Store or Google Play)
  • CU*Talk Telephone Banking by calling 1-855-286-5885.

 

These services allow you to conveniently access your accounts and view transactions, check balances, transfer funds etc.

Financial Hardship Support – UPDATE

If you are experiencing financial hardship during this time, please contact the credit union as soon as possible.

As a way to help our members who may be struggling financially during this situation, the credit union is introducing:

Lend a Hand Loans:

  1. Signature Loan up to $1,000.00 for 15 months. The first 3 payments (90 days) are interest only. “As low as” 5.00% Rate*
  2. Signature Loan up to $2,000.00 for 21 months. The first 3 payments (90 days) are interest only. “As low as” 5.25% Rate*

 

*Rates “as low as” are based on applicant’s credit history. APR= Annual Percentage Rate. Programs, rates, terms and conditions are subject to change without notice. For 5.03% APR with a term up to 15 months, estimated principal and interest monthly payment of $85.62 per $1,000 borrowed. For 5.28% APR with a term up to 21 months, estimated principal and interest monthly payment of $115.81 per $1,000 borrowed.

Waived Fees:

In addition, the following fees will be waived:

  • Phone transfer performed by staff
  • Payment by phone using Debit/Credit Card
  • Payment by phone from another financial institution
  • Skip A Payment Fee**

**I understand by participating in the Skip-A-Payment program that the interest will continue to accrue and the term of my loan will be extended. I understand this form must be submitted to the Credit Union a minimum of 5 days before the payment I wish to skip is due. I must be current on my loans with three consecutive payments to be eligible for this offer.

Mortgages, home equity loans, business loans, leases and any modified loans are excluded from this program. Please Note: Only two loan payments can be skipped per calendar year. GAP coverage may be affected. Refer to your GAP documents for details.

*Accounts that are two times 30 days delinquent or one time 60 days delinquent are excluded from the credit card skip a payment program. Please note finance charges continue to accrue. Participation in the credit card skip a payment program is optional.
